We are so proud of the kiddos adapting to these new changes at the preschool, and you parents have been heroes watching them at home and trying to get work done as well. things have changed significantly from our old routine to keep up with licensing / health dept. guidelines: drop off is outside (parents / staff need masks - children aren't required), we take their temperatures to write next to the sign in book, and lunches / bags are put into the bin outside, and then kids head into the outside playground (7500 sq / ft - largest playground out of 350 daycares / preschools in boulder county); playground rules have changed - no water table / slip 'n slide play for our summer program, but sprinklers are ok so bring a swimsuit for their cubby, our climbing dome can only have 2 kids at time, and the sandbox is 4 at time, when they line up to go in for snack / lunch there's tape on the ground to distance them (they're doing a great job!); once inside all the windows are open, bathroom / sink gets wiped regularly and kids have tape to social distance for reading books / etc, we are keeping their lunches spaced across the 4 tables to distance snack / lunch as well. Basically we're following state / local protocol rules and the kids and families are doing great with the new changes at school. For pickup there's a big sign on the front door to keep your mask on, one parent in at a time, and quickly sign out and gather your child's things for the next parent to come in. The church, who we're not affiliated with (just pay rent), is an enormous building and currently closed except for our preschool which is deemed essential. We are trying to spend the majority of the day outside, but if they get overheated / rained out we also have a 5,000 sq. ft gym inside, which is an enormous space. Nobody has been sick yet, but if so, we will close for 72 to clean and notify everyone involved.
