February 2019 Newsletter

January was busy at Sunrise and the children learned so much about the ocean. We hope they had a lot to share with you parents about starfish, jellyfish, sharks, and sea horses! Our other theme "winter" couldn’t have been more appropriate considering the snowy weather all month. The teachers are really proud of all the art your little ones worked so hard on. Be sure to save the ones you like if you have kids heading to kindergarten for their graduation books.

Our curriculum themes for February are Chinese New Year’s and of course Valentines Day. Chinese people celebrate their New Year’s with fireworks, new clothes, and traditional foods from February 5th to the 19th. We’ll celebrate their holiday with our annual dragon parade in the gym on February 13th. Feel free to stop by in the morning during dance to check it out! The Sunrise Valentines Day party takes place from 9:30-10:30 February 14th and 15th so please sign up to bring some goodies on the sheet in front of the classroom door. There’s a Kid’s Movie Night February 23rd from 3:00-7:00pm if you need a night out together. The school will close for the federal holiday on President’s Day, Monday, February 18th.

All the best,

Misses Melissa, Dana, & Mr. Nick.
